My apologies if this has already been posted, but...
When I try to edit a saved route (always one that I have created, not another user), it does not correctly allow me to change the middle of the run. For example, let's say I want to run an extra mile in the middle of my saved route. I would go to Edit Route, and then click on the point where I want to deviate from the current route, choose the Add/Delete tab, click Add point after (or before) this one... and at this point it does not create a new point, it only breaks the link between the point I clicked and the next point. From here I can drag that broken leg and create new points to drag to where I would like. However, the Route Info says that the Distance is 0. Then when I save it, it says the distance is 0.
Any chance you could look at this? I'm using FF2 and it happens on all saved routes.
Thanks!
I've reported this problem before. IT IS A PROBLEM. Can't make any addition to a route till this is fixed. You can move points but you can't add. So as you're constructing a route be generous with extra points which you might be useful later. Another problem - notes disappear whenever you touch a point.
Note that "add point" does add a point, it's just that the point is not where it should be; it's somewhere half way around the world - maybe it switches the sign on the longitude or something. You will see that if you download the gpx file for the route with an added point.
Developers: it should be pretty trivial to figure out what's going wrong.
I am the same. I need to add some kms right in the middle of my bike ride. Would be good if you could do what is says.
We're off topic here but: you probably never closed the MMF window. Every time I close the window I'm logged out. The code probably isn't setting the cookie expiration, or reading its cookie, correctly. It's easy enough to just log in again so it's no big deal. There are many other more serious bugs that have been noted and not corrected.
I gather they are busy writing a new route mapping engine at ~/beta.html .
Hi Guys-
Rest assured, we are working hard to create new features and fix bugs Peter- you're right that we're focusing on releasing a brand new version of the mapping technology, and you will see a lot of fixes and speed improvements.
Jeff-
I'm in software customer support, so if a customer has a bug, sometimes we'll say "That will be fixed in the next release" because we don't want to devote time to an old system when it won't matter once the new version comes out. Do you think someone will get to fix this problem? Or can you give an ETA on the new mapping technology and when we'll be able to use it?
Thanks
Update:
I have just released a minor update to the editor that fixes some issues of routes not loading in edit mode. This is not the "major" release I've been alluding to, but it's a temporary fix that should help.
As for the major release, this is currently in public beta. We have a group where we discuss it, and it's progress here, and I welcome you to come check it out.

I posted this in "Lobby" - guess that's the wrong place. How do you get to this forum from the home page - it doesn't show up when I click "COMMUNITY" (I have it bookmarked). THE POST:
How do you edit a route?
I can't move any points - there are no point markers to click and drag on my screen when I go into edit mode. I see markers when first plotting the route, but not when editing after a save.
Old problems:
Still have two point at each turn point. One has the auto-generated routing note, the other doesn't. If you move the point with the note ever so slightly, the note disappears. Notes not output with the gpx file.
New problem:
Blocking those ads is pretty tedious.
Guess we're having teething pains.
