    KML files cannot be imported into the new map editor at http://www.mapmyride.com/create_new

    It fails every time with "Import error: data format not recognized". I have tried with 2 kml files and they can both be loaded into Google Earth without problems.

    Here is the contents of the simple kml file I have tried. Could somebody from MapMyRide please have a look at why the import fails. A better error message would certainly help a lot.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    I don't think MapMyRide.com accepts KML - just GPX. The same is true at FavoriteRun.com , BikeRouteToaster.com and Bikely.com .

    Try  BikeMap.net ( or GPSies.com - kind of messy ) which do accept KML.  Go there, upload your KML and then "Export" a GPX which you can the upload to MapMyRide.com .  Your file works - find it at BikeMap.Net - just zoom in on the spot (strange route!).
