Location and Your Privacy

Thank you for using this site to plot and share your many routes. You can share routes with friends and family using the 'Tell-A-Friend' feature, or you can choose to make your route Public and share it with the world.

When you make a route Public, anybody browsing or searching for a route can view your route. This is great if you want to share a great run along a beach, or around a park.

MapMyWalk.com does not recommend you make routes to and from your home or work available to the public, unless you understand the privacy and security risks associated with such action. If you have a route starting from your home, someone searching for a route can see where you live. It is that simple.

MapMyWalk.com does recommend that you make public great routes in your town or city. Is there a park nearby your home? Start the route at the park and end it in the park. Provide a decription about the park ... but keep the route to and from the park to your home private.
