I work in Oregon, live in Florida. I am wanting to do a ride from Longview, WA north 50-55 miles along the S.T.P. route. Been off the bike since July 24th (I rode 2150 miles in 17 days in July as part of the MapMyride's Aquaphor Le Tour Challenge). I have been busy working on a ship (I work on a missile tracker) here in Portland. Any recommendations or thoughts. Prossible ride dates: August 28, 29 or 30th. I am pushing ftwo rides on the 28th or 30th. My ride partner is doing only on of them (Every ride I have done since 2007 has been 100 miles or more) and I am thinking about doing the Vernonia Century I did last year (from the "Rubber to the Road" book) or a ride to OR along the coast from a location that that has me doing an out 52-60 miles and back route. look me up on Facebook: John Steeber Jr. or check out the article and video on my cycling by using the keywords "John Steeber cycling Tampa St. Pete Times" (NOTE: It is a 3 page article in our Sunday paper article [5 pages to print] and while at sea it took me 11 pages to explain all the errors the reporter made with his story, LOL!
