watson11 Since this is the first review of this bike ride, I claim the right to rename this ride to a more suitable name. There are three sections of this ride, the Family Ride starts at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, driving straight to the lake approx. 2.5 miles on Dawn Hill Road. Then a sharp turn around the bottom of the lake heading north. A gradual hill is very enjoyable and seems like there is nothing to this ride, and then have it in the right gear when you approach a surprise hill. As you head north past a RV Camp you will encounter a glass road as you head toward the coal energy plant. The road is as smooth as any road you will encounter. Heading east the next surprise is Railroad Hill, a downhill rush over smooth railroad tracks and heading back to the church. A very enjoyable ride and before you get to the parking lot another surprise hill. The Family Ride is 7.5 miles and young bike riders will enjoy very little traffic. Two other sections can be added to the more experienced rider. Make your first turn on Country Club Road at the Dawn Hill Resort entrance and head South, great hill and then flat roads past industrial parks. Cheri Whitlock Drive is a busy street before you head back North on Country Club Road to again catch Dawn Hill Road and adds 5 miles to the ride. To add more miles to the ride, park at Gentry High School and follow the paved road Southwest to join the original trail, or turn right on Taylor Orchard Road to reverse the ride, and be ready for the surprise Railroad Hill. I proclaim this bike ride with the new name “Dawn Hill’s “The Beginning””. My beautiful partner and I rode this ride together and most enjoyable. Great ride to start your bicycle riding, and then go on to longer rides. "P&B"
