Walk Description
Park along Whitfield on either side. Great walk, dog walk, or run. It is fairly well used and seems very safe-I have never heard of any problems on it. All trails are 10 ft wide packed dirt jeep trails. Crosses creek twice- both good places for dog stops/swims. If it has been raining heavily the second bridge (the concrete bridge) can be under several inches of water- shoes off, no problem! Explore the stream from the concrete bridge- beautiful rock formations in stream about 200 feet downstream- easy foot trails on both sides. For the more adventurous there is a trail on left side of the stream connecting the bridges-just head downstream from the wooden bridge and stay at streamside- can't get lost. It takes longer than you think to do this- maybe 90 minutes and there are a few steep stream side rocky climbs but a great forest walk.

this map is incorrect. the road between whitfield and the wood bridge crosses the utility clearing 2x: right about where the one mile mark is(see satellite view) and once right before the bridge. total distance is closer to 4 miles.
