Run Description
The Cortland YMCA Leaf Peeper 1/2 Marathon inaugurated in 2005 and grows in numbers every year. The race begins and ends at Yaman Park off Rt 13. The course heads North on Rt 13 to Lorings Crossing, then over to East River Road heading towards Truxton in an Out and Back Fashion. The turn at mile 6.6 has a portapotty and cheering volunteers. Aid stations are located every few miles and feature water, sport gel, gatorade, and other goodies. The scenery is beautiful with Fall leaves, the scenic river and various farm animals sharing your journey. Finish the race with a Juicy Cortland Apple. The race course is fairly flat with a few mild rolling climbs. Great race, good support, lovely country.

I ran the Leaf Peeper in 2005 & 2006, and I'm looking forward to running it on Sunday, October 21, 2007. It's a nice course with great support from the Cortland YMCA and local volunteers.
