Bike Ride Description
Definitely not a flat course but not a lot of elevation either for such a long ride. The placement of hills is what makes this ride a challenge. Noteworty hills include my current personal favorite, Coventryville Road at Mile-17 with average grade of 7.2%/max 10% and Birdell Road with avgerage grade of 5.8%/max 10%; having to climb Birdell Road at the end of the route can give you a good indicator of your fitness. Also, Don't underestimate the difficulty of the hill on Rt401 heading up to Rt82 in Elverson, it's long and can wear you down. However, this all depends on where you start from. My experience is that traffic is low and the shoulder on Rt23 provides excellent ride safety. Enjoy!
