Feature Requests: Lose the new advertising pop-up window

Anyway to disable this annoying new feature?

I cant believe that thing!!! soooo annoying and time wasting for those of us trying to do what we came here to do!!!  Like you said - I can't see my entire walk path and I have to constantly move with the navigation compass which is already annoying since it moves over to fast and too much.  It's advertising but can't they place it where it doesn't interfere with the purpose of this web-site!!!???  It's like those banner adverts that come on in the middle of a segment on tv and take up almost a quarter of the screen (and then they wave to you just to annoy you even more).

I'd prefer they just charge us for a subscription to the site rather than making money on ads, what do you think?  I'm not even sure how they make money, does anyone pay to use the service?  It truly is a great site.  I paid more to have lunch today than I did to use the site all last year so I do wonder.  Anyone else wonder? 

 

It seems to have gone away? I haven't seen it for a couple of days at least. Please let it be so!
