This is a walk to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research sponsored by the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation (TBBCF). Mapped in reverse of actual walk, so mileage shows as a countdown, this one-way route starts at Old Saybrook Pt and finishes at Camp Harkness in Waterford. The route begins along the Connecticut River, passes through downtown Old Saybrook, then crosses the Connecticut River on the Baldwin Bridge and winds through the towns of Old Lyme, Niantic and Waterford. It hugs the shoreline as much as possible and involves a lot of different walking surfaces and conditions, including boardwalks, trails, shoulders of quiet rural roads and busy roads, and sidewalks. On the day of the walk the route will be posted with directional signs and teams of people will be there to assist fundraising walkers with directions, medical support, refreshments and ensure the safe flow of walkers and traffic. 100% of the funds raised by this walk go to Breast Cancer Research.
