Description of this Walk

A very good and never dull walk. Takes you through some of Charleston's oldest and most historic neighborhoods. The route can be freestyled among any of the many alleys that interconnect. View the diversity and evolution of the structures while learning about the history of many from streetlevel displays. Enjoy a sunset over the Ashley River from the Battery where wildlife, dolphins, and the occasional fisherman are always present. Great route to meet people on. The return route brings you up the historic King Street neighborhood and the many shops and restaurants of Charleston. Great for anytime of the day and year round. During the day the route is completely safe; however, it is close to some sketchy areas and is thus not recommended to do alone at night. Highly recommended from Spring and Summer as the many gardens make for some pleasant smells, sights, and sounds.
