Description of this Walk

A great hour to two hour walk. Passes through a lovely historic district of houses. It is fairly guiet in the neighborhood with the smells of southern gardens throughout. A walk through Market Street allows you to sample several vendors along the track. A circut around Waterfront Park allows you to sample the gardens and fountains along the Cooper River. The end of the pier makes a great viewing location for sunrises, wildlife, ship watching, the Yorktown and Fort Sumter, and the Ravanel Bridge. Dolphins are quiet a common sight close to the pier along with the occasional fisherman. The return leg brings you back up market through the ritz of Charleston Place Hotel and up King Street allowing you to window shop and take in the aroma of restuarants and candy shops. One of my favorites year round.
