Roundhay Park to Harewood Loop
This is a standard North Leeds loop. A good mix of off road and road although the finish, along Street Lane may be a bit boring. However, it gives you the opportunity to wind down or display hard won mud spatters to locals. Let them know there is a world of adventure accessible by bike less than ten minutes away from their front doors. Most riders can manage this route fairly easily although there is a tiny, tiny amount of technical descent down some rocks on the bridle path north of Brandon way. Personally I wish there were more technical descents in this area.
Good, fit riders can do this in under an hour and a half, anyone else can take up to two hours. I like this ride and starting from Roundhay park means parking (and occasionally ice cream vans) are available. However, as this ride requires some local knowledge I'd advise getting the North Leeds 1:25,000 OS to get you through the park onto the ring road and back through Meanwood Valley trail.
This also makes for a good night ride as the trails are pretty clear.
However, as a caveat I don't take any personal responsibility for any mistakes, problems or any other issues you might have as a result of using this trail. Seems a shame I have to put that bit... - a 13.9 mi cycling route in Leeds, the United Kingdom
