Today I finished 1000 miles in 100 days challenge. I actually finished the challenge in only 68 rides. I started my 1000 miles with a Mountain Bike, just riding the road every day and weekend. Eventually I realized that I was not going to make it so I upgraded to a Trek FX 7.3. I purchased my new bike in late July - I quickly put on 700 miles on my new ride and easily achieved the 1000 mile goal. I now realize that next summer I could get 1500 for 100 days and that will be my goal. The 1000 mile goal is something that can be accomplished - you just have to be consistant, keep riding, maximize the weekend rides and keep going. It felt very good to get the first 1000. I'm a beginner biker and only have been riding since April. My next challenge is 2500 in a year.
