I'm about to turn 50 this year, and I want to get back into the power walking routine I had going about 15 years ago when my kids were little.  My pace then was a 12.5 minute mile.  I started out slowly (20 minute mile) and am walking for an hour as often as the weather permits.  I'm blogging about my walks at VictoriousWalk.com
